Garnier Ultra Blends Revitalizing Shampoo Review

Garnier has come up with a new range of shampoos and conditioners to keep all the hair woes at bay. Although my previous experiences with Garnier have not been very great and I have not used their products after Fructis came into being. This time I was a little positive about Garnier Ultra Blends Shampoo range so I ended up doing a Garnier Ultra Blends Revitalizing Shampoo Review for you guys.

Since I have an oily scalp I chose Garnier Ultra Blends Revitalizing Shampoo so that it will help my hair get back the bounce. My hair has thin strands and because of the high sebum content it tends to look flat and dull easily. I religiously follow the regime of washing my hair at least 4 times in a week. I used this Garnier Ultra Blends Revitalizing Shampoo after a few hours of oiling and it takes about two washes to completely remove the oil. Using it on a normal day without oiling shows best results. It might be not be a great choice for people with completely dry hair because it considerably lessens the sebum content in the scalp.

Overall I really like this shampoo as a daily shampoo. It cleans well and gives smooth soft hair. It never makes hair dry; also I haven’t noticed any extra hair fall. I like the Packaging  it is an apt size and you can easily keep it while travelling. My hair feels fresh as it has all the natural cleansers – lemon, henna, green tea, aloe and eucalyptus.. It also has a lemon fragrance that lingers on for a while. It leaves my hair super soft and shiny.

Price – Rs. 120 for 175ml

Pros –

Why you should be using a hair primer

We all yearn for a beautilicious mane but most of us have our own set of bad experiences with hair products which keep us away from trying something new. For most of us a face primer has become a regular product for parties but a hair primer is something we are not very sure of. Most women love long locks but are not very confident on experimenting so I bring to you some details about hair primers for some quick help.

What are Primers?

The basic function of any primer be it skin or hair has the innate ability to create an even base for the body part involved. A hair primer can be used alone or before other beauty products. It creates a weightless, humidity resistant surface to further apply any beauty product that you need to. It lets you keep away humidity, dirt particles, oil and moisture; moreover it adds to your hairstyle and helps it to stay longer.

There are two major classifications of hair primers that you can do – one helps you to create a shiny foundation for the hair styles and the other one which helps you clear the knots and remove the frizz.

  • ease of availability
  • ease of application
  • helps your hair style stay for very long periods of time
  • keeps away the frizz
  • blends very well with your hair texture
  • you do not feel any additional weight

You must be wondering about how to use the hair primer by yourself, it is very easy. You just need to take a little bit of it and after your hair gets properly cleaned and conditioned you can easily run it through your hair. Make sure you do not rub it or massage it on your scalp. It is best advisable to be used every time you need your damp hair to be styled.

Where to get it

Most leading brands in hair care have hair primers in their kitty. You have a big choice starting from Wella to Sephora and most of these are available online. Stay tuned in for a product review.

Home remedies to treat Oily Scalp

Not having adequate oil in your body is not a boon and so is the excess of it. I have a pretty oily scalp which leads to me having oily hair even the same day as I use shampoo. I am surprised as how active my sebaceous glands are to get me such a hair for over last decades, looks funny but it ain’t. You can ask any girl who goes through this trouble on daily basis so here are a few home remedies to treat oily scalp which should help you like it has helped me with a little practice.

Home remedies to treat Oily Scalp

  • Talcum Powder

All you have to do is massage your regular Talcum Powder on your scalp for a few minutes and leave it to rest. You can wash it off after 10 – 15 minutes to get best results. You can repeat this fortnightly to keep your scalp clean and dry (pun intended).

  • Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera can work wonders for your skin in every form. You can take out fresh Aloe Vera Gel and a few drops of lemon juice and mix it in your shampoo before washing. You can even make this mixture and store it for a few days in your refrigerator.

  • Hair Styling Products

With such oily hair you might have to stay away from hair styling products, majorly conditioners. I do not use a conditioner unless it becomes a dire need because otherwise I will not get that fresh shampoo feel even for a few hours. After using curlers and straighteners also you will notice an increase in oil.

  • Diluted Beer

Diluted Beer works very well for your hair, you can use diluted beer to rinse your hair after a hearty wash with the shampoo. Beer has excellent properties to make your hair soft and remove excessive oil from your scalp.

Lemon Tree Shampoo with Tea tree and Mint Review

Lemon tree has come up with an anti-dandruff hair cleanser as they call it. The shampoo indeed is very good for dandruff removal. The herbal therapy and the feel of mint leaves your hair and scalp very fresh.

I do have dandruff problems in the rainy and winter season due to the usage of warm water for head bath but this product totally floored me. It is a good option for an anti dandruff shampoo.

Thumbs up

It leaves you hair totally fresh and light. You feel extremely clean after using this shampoo and it does not have many chemicals into it.

Thumbs down

Since it does not have many chemicals you cannot use it on oiled hair. The oil won’t come out very easily and you might have to use another shampoo for oil removal.

If you take my opinion with respect to the kind of money that you pay for this bottle is totally
worth it. It is priced at Rs 145 for 130 ml.

Since it is a product by Lemon Tree which belongs to the Lotus Cosmetics group we can be positive about the products and their credibility.
This shampoo proves to be totally herbal and not tested on animals.
Personally even as a user I would recommend this shampoo for better removal of dandruff and clean hair. Also it can be even used daily.

How often to wash your hair

We often get confused on how many times should you wash your hair in a week to keep them perfectly clean. You need to take a tissue paper and wipe it every morning to your hair, the day it becomes sticky you need to wash it.

It will vary from person to person since the sebum production of a person is directly proportional to the oily skin, acne, dust, lifestyle. For women who are into marketing or jobs where they need to go out a lot will make their hair greasier. Also it depends on the location where you stay, if you stay in humid climate your hair tend to get dirtier soon.

It totally depends on when you fell your hair has become oily then should you wash your hair and also choose a shampoo that leaves your scalp perfectly clean.

Hairdos for a Bad Hair day

We all have our set of bad hair days even when we regularly, pamper them with the same hair care regime. I have  got a few hairdos that you can try and will help to cheer up. Remember to use your hands more than the comb to give your hair a great messy look. You should also leave your to dry.

Just pull up your hair and tie them into a nice bun together, this can give you a perfect hairstyle for a day out or even a party.

On a warm sunny day when your hair feels sticky just try this and sport a colorful scarf to pep up your look.

Tie your your hair with a puffed pony tail and don’t comb too much, let it look natural.

This hairstyle is for thin and flat hair and you can accessorize your look with colors, this is the most doable style which might be useful at any point in the day.

This is a typical beach hairstyle that can be made for a day out but only if you have medium length hair.

More Tutorials for these hairdos coming up soon!
