L’Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliners Review

L’Oreal has introduced a new range of colorful eye pencils with gel liners under the Cannes collection. These are called L’Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliners. While this is a breath of fresh air and is very different from the L’Oreal Kajal magique and the different colored eye pencils from Lakme, Maybelline or Faces cosmetics.

The product says, ‘Indulge your eyes in silk with Silkissimeby Infallible. Glide on smooth intensity with our first silk inspired liquid pencil. The smudge-proof formula lasts for up to 16-hours of intense color from dusk until dawn. Gives a delicate, silky shiny look with ultimate perfection in a single stroke. Available in 8 vibrant shades.’ The shades are –

  • Black
  • Charcoal
  • Pure Purple
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Cobalt Blue
  • True Teal
  • Plum

These L’Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliners are a gel liners which are way too creamy. Since the product needs to be sharpened for re-use which is not user friendly. Tip breaks away very easily only on a single usage. Though you may use it as a base but creating a fine line with these eyeliners is a big issue.

I feel not very comfortable with the idea of sharpening eye pencils because then they loose the fine tip finish. Though I am pretty impressed with the wide variety of colors and I would have tried them all but my experience was not too great with the four I got.

The best part is that stays for quite a long time. Once you put this on you do not have to refresh it throughout the day. It can be on its own and doesn’t smudge later. The color is well defined and you can give it a try if you have a thing for colors like I do.

Price – INR 575 for 1.10g

Pros –

  • The colors
  • The gel finish
  • The ease of application and availability

Cons-

  • Too expensive
  • a lot of it goes waste in breaking
  • sharpening is not easy and since the tip breaks it cannot give an even finish after the first use

Style Meter – 7/10

Star Collection J Lo’s Pink – Seems to be perfect for medium to dark skin tones. I love the shade because it has that berry look to it. It is a must have for your party vanity kit.

L’Oreal Paris Blake’s Pink – A good choice for lighter skin tones. It has a soft coral look it and is a good choice for a summer day out.

L’Oreal Paris Doutzen’s Pink – A very bright pink. I think each of us should own this shade, it can easily complement you on most occasions.

Star Collection Liya’s Pink – It is a reddish pink shade can be used by all Indian skin tones for occasion wear. The shade would compliment all Indian skin tones.

L’Oreal Paris Aishwarya’s Pink – A soft pink shade with little shimmer. Since the shade is matte you should exfoliate your lips well for the perfect finish.

Star Collection Eva’s Pink– This is the most regular brownish pink that most of us swear by. It is perfect with highlighted eyes or smokey eye makeup.

Star Collection Naomi’s Pink – This is the lightest shade of the lot and will go well only with very fair Indian skin tones. It comes close to nude lips and can be paired with heavy eye makeup.

Collection Star Pink Sonam’s Azalea – It is the carrot coral pink and my current favorite. I feel this shade goes very well with my skin.

Collection Star Pin Katrina’s Orchid – It is a bright pink which will add bling to most of your party outfits.

Collection Star Pink Fan Bingbing’s Peony – It is a rather milky pink shade which is more suited for fairer skin tones.

Collection Star Pink Gong Li’s Lilac – As the name suggests it is a cute lilac shade again flattering the lighter skin tones in India.

Collection Star Pink Julianne’s Magnolia – This is closest to what most actresses are wearing for award functions these days, this shade will equally compliment any skin tone.

Loreal has launched 3 pink nail paints in the La vie en rose collection. There are three signature shades each by Aishwarya, Katrina, Sonam.

Cons

  • High end
  • Some shades are dry matte which lead to chapping of lips

Why you should be using a hair primer

We all yearn for a beautilicious mane but most of us have our own set of bad experiences with hair products which keep us away from trying something new. For most of us a face primer has become a regular product for parties but a hair primer is something we are not very sure of. Most women love long locks but are not very confident on experimenting so I bring to you some details about hair primers for some quick help.

What are Primers?

The basic function of any primer be it skin or hair has the innate ability to create an even base for the body part involved. A hair primer can be used alone or before other beauty products. It creates a weightless, humidity resistant surface to further apply any beauty product that you need to. It lets you keep away humidity, dirt particles, oil and moisture; moreover it adds to your hairstyle and helps it to stay longer.

There are two major classifications of hair primers that you can do – one helps you to create a shiny foundation for the hair styles and the other one which helps you clear the knots and remove the frizz.

Pros

  • ease of availability
  • ease of application
  • helps your hair style stay for very long periods of time
  • keeps away the frizz
  • blends very well with your hair texture
  • you do not feel any additional weight

Usage

You must be wondering about how to use the hair primer by yourself, it is very easy. You just need to take a little bit of it and after your hair gets properly cleaned and conditioned you can easily run it through your hair. Make sure you do not rub it or massage it on your scalp. It is best advisable to be used every time you need your damp hair to be styled.

Where to get it

Most leading brands in hair care have hair primers in their kitty. You have a big choice starting from Wella to Sephora and most of these are available online. Stay tuned in for a product review.
